Rydal dog walks but pricey parking, Cumbria

Description

The car park here is a good starting point for several walks with the dog, but parking charges are steep and apply summer and winter.

Details

GPS coords for car park: 54.4502, -3.0066  Charges for 2022:  £5 for the first two hours and £2.20 an hour thereafter. Pay for any extra time before leaving the car park. ANPR controlled.  Owned by the Lowther Estate. It's an old quarry, so cool even in very hot weather.  Several car parks along this stretch of the road all with the same conditions.

Walk

Three walks and an easy access walk to the river.  The start points are signed and there's a map near the payment machine.
