This is a really atmospheric and beautifully shady space for a dog walk. Several of the oak trees are named, and have boards identifying them - such as the 'King' oak.
More information about the Estate and its oak trees can be picked up from either the Marlborough Tourist Office, or at the campsite at Postern Hill. This gloriously ancient forest is privately owned, and for this reason is closed on Jan 1st each year - although otherwise the permissive paths are open for public use.
Shops and supermarkets in Marlborough for picnic supplies, and fuel stations.
Permissive paths are clear and easy to follow.
