Showy house and landscaped gardens, Derbyshire
PremiumDescription
A really delightful small-scale estate and house with a Robert Adam landscape and building design. Dogs are welcome on leads, there are a lot of sheep, and it's a very charming spot to take a driving break.

Stunning!!
This is a National Trust site & so there will be an entrance fee. I believe there technically ways you can access the walks / site without paying, but I'll leave that up to your morals.
Dogs to be on leads throughout all areas so great if your dog is nervous. There are a few routes with the longest being 5k. Technically you could figure 8 and co.bine 2 trails which would mean that its just under 10k.
There is 1 board map which I'd recommend taking a photo of as there are signs for the trails, but there aren't loads. They also dont have paper ones there. Dogs are allowed in most areas (except the house and certain dining areas).
There were plenty of signs to advise where the livestock were, but as the dogs need to be on leads at all times, its more of an FYI.
We did the long walk which was mainly wooded & shaded, there is an open part of the walk either at the beginning or ending, depending on which way you start. Which walks alongside the water - aome fantastic butterflies, dragonflies and fish. It was a lovely, relaxing and needed walk! I hope you enjoy it as much as I did!
