Find the perfect dog walk on your journey - Driving with Dogs

Edited: 20th November 2018

Shrewsbury Battlefield, Shropshire

A big, flat, open space where Henry IV (England) beat Henry 'Hotspur' Percy (Northumberland Rebels) away at Shrewsbury. The final score was England 5000 casualties, Rebels 10,000 all out.

Free parking.

Follow the footpath from the car park in the direction of the church to get a feel of the battlefield, or park by the church itself for a hard surface path.

The church here is apparently built over a mass grave of the battle dead. Spooky stuff, and great fun if you need to combine a dog walk with some Horrible History.

Useful spot for a short but atmospheric walk. You're likely to have the site to yourself, unless it's a weekend and the Sealed Knot have got there first.
