Southwell Trail dog walk, Nottinghamshire

Description

A gentle stroll along the Southwell Trail, with a chance to spot otters and voles along the way.

Details

There's a free car park at Station Road, Kirklington near the former Station House. Pubs, shops and public WCs in Southwell.

Walk

This section of the Southwell Trail has been created from a former railway route, making a gradient-free easy access pathway. If you're travelling to the area then it makes sense to start at Hocklington and walk into Southwell for a view of the famous Minster and refreshments in one of the many traditional hostelries. It's also possible to start off in Southwell and extend the walk to pass by Hocklington and carry on to turn round in Bilsthorpe, although this never feels quite as good.
