Tain Hill dog walk, Scotland

Description

Woodland walk to the Pulpit Stone and views over the Dornoch Firth. Dogs can be off the lead.

Details

It is signposted off the A9, the postcode takes you half way up the road, just continue straight on until you get to the car park. Nearest toilets in Tain.

Walk

The best route is to leave the car park by the right path which wends it's way through mature woodland and overgrown quarries. Most are not a danger but there is the odd fence where it is more dangerous. Dog poo bin half way up. You then emerge above the trees and reach the pulpit stone with views over the Dornoch Firth. Come down by turning right on the track junction and then it is a more gentle slope and wide track back to the car park.
