You may spot your dog sniffing more carefully than usual in this historic village pub. Smugglers once had the run of the place, and contraband was hidden in the rectory cellar and the inn. The innkeeper was head of the smuggling ring, as well as a horse thief. He was eventually convicted and sent to Botany Bay in 1799. Today, young and enthusiastic owner David runs his pub with passion. Visitors, walkers and dogs all welcome.
