Edited: 20th May 2021

Walk above Loch Meadie into the Flow Country, Scotland

Good track rising above the loch and fantastic views across Sutherland, Ben Hope and Ben Loyal

On the NC500Park in the layby on the A9, 2 and 1/2 miles to the east of Bettyhill. If there are sheep or cattle around, keep dogs on the lead.

Follow the track to the east of the car park which winds it's way up slowly up above Loch Meadie. To the gate is about 30 mins. You can turn around there or carry on to the top of Creag Meadie which is a nice rugged climb with fantastic views over the Flow Country, the UKs largest area of peat bog - another 45 minutes. On a good day you can see Ben Hope and Ben Loyal.
