Wigginton Wood Dog Walk - includes part of The Ridgeway, Hertfordshire

Description

A summerhouse folly, an obelisk, beautiful woodland, sweeping views - less than a mile off the A41 near Tring this is a lovely pitstop for a leg-stretch.

Details

Street parking. There is a community shop and cafe in Wigginton Village itself.

Walk

Taking the Tring exit from the A41 follow the signs on the exit to Wigginton. Follow the road up the hill and take the 2nd turning on the right, Highfield Road. Find a safe place to park on the street and walk up the private road on the bend in the road until a right-turn takes you to the footpath into the woods.
From here, follow the paths for a circular walk or a there-and-back. See the photo for the routes - the entrance described here is where the pink arrow has been drawn in.
