A brilliant dog friendly pub just of the M5. Just by Gordano Services. Dogs are allowed in the tiled bar area. Food is above average and service is great. Walks in nearby Prior wood are excellent.
This is a fascinating open space, as it is really several parks within a park.
Dogs can get onto this lovely sandy beach all year round. It's backed by dunes and is a fabulous off-lead romp for dogs. Within walking distance of the CCC campsite.
This park is absolutely vast, with over 1500 acres of woodland and parkland, and a working farm. And what dog could resist the opportunity to leave his mark against a tree planted by Capability Brown?
Easy to reach from the A66, this castle ruin is a good doggiestop and fun for kids too. Free entry and plenty of fresh air.
Small Cornish harbour town, with a working harbour, pubs, and beaches that allow dogs all year.
Good walking in this historic park. Look out for the interesting colliery remains near the car park. Horses also use the park, so avoid the bridle paths if your dog is scared of large beasties!
A quiet dog walk and a dog-friendly pub close to the M1 Junction 35. The dog walk is through the leafy splendour of an ancient coppice.
Dog walk in a really interesting country park, formed out of the remains of a colliery. The ponds in the park came about from subsidence, not design. It's a gritty sort of park, but worth a visit.
A gloriously sheep and stile-free walk in an ancient forest that's now part of the Pembrokeshire national park.
This is a tremendous place to stop so allow plenty of time for dogs, kids and everyone to celebrate the big spaces and heritage here. Just wonderful.
