A country pub with a warm welcome for drivers and dogs. They do good value home-made meals and also offer B&B rooms (we're not sure if these are also dog-friendly).
Timbered inn that's easy to spot from the road, and a really good woodland for dog walking. You do need to walk on the pavement by the road to get there for 5-6 minutes which is a pity.
Expect a warm welcome for you and the dog at this small, intimate and award-winning dining pub with rooms.
On the map this appears to be a quiet, even insignificant village. Once you're there it does punch above its weight in history and heritage.
So close to the M27 that you can almost touch it, but this pub is fantastically convenient and really dog-friendly. For anyone wishing to spend the night here, the rooms are dog-friendly too.
Jem and I arrived wet, and a tiny bit grumpy truth to tell, and were totally won over by the lovely warm atmosphere and excellent sarnies here.
For a sense of the 'real' Yorkshire Dales this remote section of the Dales Way feels like a time capsule. Get your timing right, and a fine lunch and a welcome from the pub dog could be yours.
Warm and welcoming dog-friendly inn with B&B rooms near Thirsk. It's good for food and an overnight stay, but there's not a good dog walk from the door which is a pity.
Pretty village, with a well-signed walk. The village is in the middle of the Rutland, Melton and Leicester triangle and easy to find.
Light and airy family-run village pub. It's friendly and very welcoming, and easy to spot from the main road. Ideal for a quick bite on your journey.
A truly old pub, with regular accounts of a ghost or two and an absolute 'must-see' if you're visiting the town. Our dogs didn't seem spooked at all!
