Two Tree Island dog walk, Essex
The western half of this extraordinary 'island' is a country park - and a great spot for dogs to take in some sea breezes. There's a link road to parking on the island.

Stroll around 50 acres of diverse countryside, not massively exciting but the dog will be happy to escape the A40 if it's a bad traffic day. There are 2.5 km of paths which are fully accessible.
A 200 acre Country Park with clear walking routes, and with the added bonus of a chance to see a working 17th century water mill and buy flour milled on the spot.
Beautiful hard sand, ideal for dog games in winter. Long and sandy dog-friendly beach. Dogs welcome from October to May 1st. Restrictions in Summer.
My favourite beach for playing when visiting Blackpool. Sand dunes and lots of running space. You don't need to check tide times as the beach entrance never seems to get closer than around 0.
Wonderful dog walking around Crompton Moor.
Apparently the UK's highest sand dune is somewhere near here! Applecross is dog-friendly.
A riverside walk, with a chance to look at what must be the shortest canal in the world! It's just one mile long, and has recently been cleaned up and restored.
If you need open space more than facilities and refreshments, this is a good walk for the M90 Junction 4.
A popular walking and swimming spot with local dog people, facilities for visitors are limited.
A good wide stretch of beach suitable for under control dogs. It is a flagged beach so dog owners should always clean up after their dogs in all areas of the beach & car park (Bins supplied).
The brightly painted headstocks near the entrance show that this recently created nature park was once a coal mining site.
