Originally a waterside farmhouse near Burton upon Trent, this is now a warm and welcoming dog-friendly country inn and hotel, on the banks of the river Trent. Very handy for a break from your journey.
An absolute original of a 17th century pub; you won't find anywhere else quite like it. So if you like quirky, seek this out. No gimmicks though, the food is good and the beer well kept.
Top class dog walk and a lovely old thatched pub to sit outside and enjoy the countryside and bracing air.
A smart pub with boutique accommodation, and dog-friendly too. If your dog has a nose for the finer things in life, then check this one out. South of Stratford on Avon
Black and white timbered slice of history, right opposite the Abbey and lovely for a tea/coffee as well as meals. Dogs welcome in the bar and there's also dog-friendly accommodation.
The wild, remote area and a magnificent waterfall at the end of an easy to follow path makes this short walk an exhilarating experience. There may be sheep around, but otherwise it's ideal for dogs.
A small route around some water on the right side of the road, if you cross the road there is a woodland path, the woodland walk is a dead end with a bench at the end.
A very dog welcoming beach.
This part of Lincolnshire rivals the Cotswolds for honey stone cottages and a quiet rural pace. It's a fine place for a dog walk.
Starting point is the pub, although it does gripe me it's not dog friendly, however a car park just beneath the pub is the starting point for numerous great walks around the reservoirs.
We were just a bit taken with this country pub, complete with its flock wallpaper from the 1950s. With a background in fine dining, plus enormous charm from the team this is definitely one to watch.
