A lovely country pub that's dog-friendly and close by the A413. Such a shame that access to several really excellent dog walks is blocked by a railway line on one side and a river on the other.
Outstanding lakeside gardens with access to watersports on Windermere and a National Trust cafe and car park. On a sunny day what could be better than a cream tea in this tranquil setting?
A former drovers' inn that dates back to the 13th century, and that seems totally incredible. But it's still providing hungry travellers with great food and a warm welcome.
Dog-friendly country inn with B&B about halfway between Ludlow and Bridgnorth.
A fabulous chance to get a massive view over the surrounding countryside and enjoy an off-lead walk with the dog.
We really enjoyed the walk here and especially the sound of the waves rippling across the surface of the reservoir.
A pleasant walking route beside a reservoir to please the dog, and then head for refreshments at the recently refurbished inn, or tea and antiques.
A quiet backwater by the canal where dogs can run free on the towpath. The dog-friendly pub is currently open only at weekends.
A quiet and atmospheric woodland walk with a feast of bluebells in spring, and very few people around.
An easy-going path on the trans-pennine trail where it feels as if you have the hills to yourself and the dog.
An exciting walk for families and dogs along a beck with a number of little waterfalls and doggie swimming pools. Lovely in summer, not so great in icy weather.
