Dog walk with a view in the Blackdown Hills, Somerset
Super exhilarating dog walk country, with the bonus here of a site of a series of ancient castles - starting in the Bronze Age.

Luscious parkland for dogs with a nose for the high life, This is a National Trust property with an enormous park (dogs on leads near deer) and access to the river.
Handy pub car park for a walk by the canal. The pub closed suddenly in July 2025. We hope new owners will take over soon, but meanwhile it's a good walk. Close to the M42 and the M40.
This is a fabulous dog walk on an ancient track that was once the pre-Roman highway between the Ivinghoe Beacon in Hertfordshire and far away Norfolk.
We found this was a good combo of dog-friendly pub and short dog walk, with the site of the Battle of Naseby just a few miles away if you get inspired by the 'oldness' of everything around here.
Massive forest and sands. Jem voted this his best Anglesey walk!
A large park in a beautiful valley. There's a choice of walking through woods, over grass or along the river, and the chance to enjoy some interesting metal sculptures.
This is a popular dog walking site for local residents and tourists, and has a good mix of manicured lawns, rougher dog romping space and a lake.
The walk here is in a set of leisure lakes, with good facilities and quite a lot going on. It's also a really easy place to get to, and just a few minutes away from the motorway exit.
No restrictions for dogs on this big, long beach.
A good starting point for all sorts of different kinds of dog walk - including one with beaches, another through the enormous woodlands here, and yet another goes up an iconic hill.
This is a calm place for a dog walk and driving break from the M20 Jct 2, or the M26 Jct 2. There's plenty to keep the kids busy, or for just a peaceful potter with the pooch.
