A very handy stop with the dog between Swindon and Oxford and within a mile of the A420. Food served all day at the inn and the dog walk is an easy one to follow.
We love to see life returning to old pubs, and the lively team here have achieved miracles in just a few years.
Reliably good service and food from a popular dining inn group. Plenty of walking in this area.
We were charmed by the cheery welcome at this dog and child-friendly village pub with a huge garden. Active dogs will be happy with a romp over fields and then a play with the pub pooch.
A village with dog-friendly pub, an interesting art collection and grounds, plus a longer dog walk.
Another dog-friendly inn with walks close to our favourite Cumbrian river, the Eden. We've shared both of our local dog walks, one is 2.5 miles and the other just a bit longer.
Look out for some very well-known TV personalities in here, and enjoy the atmosphere of what's said to be the oldest inn in England. It's an extraordinary place and well worth a visit.
Fabulous old coaching inn near the banks of the River Thames and dogs get a very warm welcome.
Short stroll with the dog and a dog-friendly upmarket dining pub in the Nadder Valley and close to the A303. The village was once called 'Stop', which is as good a reason to take break as any!
A rural dog walk and dog-friendly pub close to M2 Junction 5. The walk passes attractive timbered buildings showing the history here reaching deep into the Middle Ages.
A wild walk over the fens with the dog is just the thing for a clearing of the mind and a real break from driving.
