Just the place for a stop, and particularly good when you're travelling with several generations plus the dog and need everything in one place.
Village pub with good cafe menu in a pub ambience. Dogs are welcome and the garden is quite large. The walk is very short and boisterous dogs will feel cheated. Less than a mile from the A14.
One of Jem's favourite doggiestops and it's lovely for dog swimming, a short walkies, and really excellent home-made cakes. The operational steam railway will thrill everyone, and it smells divine!
If quirky architecture floats your boat, then a visit to this barely altered 16th century tower house will be a joy.
So close to the motorway but this village and walk is definitely in the countryside.
Dog-friendly locals' inn with a cheerful atmosphere. It's close to Abergavenny and easy to spot from the A40.
A gentle estate which makes an excellent journey break for drivers who enjoy their gardens. Very good for families with good facilities, National Trust cafe and plenty to see.
A flat waterside dog walk with a huge variety of birds and other wildlife to enjoy. A real burst of countryside goodness close to the M27.
A doggiestop off the A35 with lots of interest to see, and you can pack it all into a short stop.
There are shops, dog-friendly pubs and cafes here, and it's a good stopping point on the A65 with much easier parking and access to the walks than Skipton, which is just 4 miles away.
Lovely place to make a doggiestop on your journey, with a really good shop for fresh produce as well as tasty meals. And there's a dog walk on a public footpath from the car park too.
