On the A382 but also in the middle of the town, so this dog-friendly pub is maybe best for a stop on your journey when you also need to buy stuff, find an ATM or other town tasks.
Historic inn on the very edge of Exmoor, and dogs and kids are made welcome. Many walk routes such as the Tarka Trail come fairly close to the pub and it's well placed for a lunchtime stop.
