A long stretch of sandy beach rather delightfully situated between the local sewage treatment works and the start of a military zone. To be fair, the dog won't know!
A massive sandy beach with plenty of parking. You'll find a typical Camargue beach here, with a slightly odd sense of solitude and desolation.
Dogs are allowed on one small section of the beach at Cabourg all year round.
An interesting walk to enjoy the rather magnificent 'Devil's Bridge' overlooking the Ardeche river. Legend has it that the devil took a hand in designing the 17m high bridge, made out of basalt.
Stony beach with direct access from the car park. Dogs allowed all year round.
An idyllic and unspoiled beach where you really can get away from the crowds. It takes a while to walk there and there are no facilities. Expect sheep everywhere, and dogs should be on leads.
Large sandy beaches with lots of space for dogs to have a really good time. Bumpy single-track lane to get there, but then that's part of the fun!
A big windy beach that's popular with surfers as well as families. The waves roll in from the Atlantic and can be spectacular.
