A gloriously atmospheric and spooky wood, where for centuries sagas have been told around the fire of the dragons and wierd creatures who lived around the Caves of Weem.
There are numerous entrances to this amazing Forest so worth visiting the main Ashdown Forest website for alternatives.
Stunning views of the Solway Coast. At low tide you can venture out onto the 'flats' but just take care as there are some deep channels.

Mainly a food pub with a nice atmosphere, on a country lane, an area of 3 or 4 cosy tables inside is available for visitors with dogs or there are tables outside.

Fairly gentle uphill walk through lovely Snowdonia scenery to a lake well hidden from the road. Can get muddy after heavy rainfall.
At Mow Cop, the folly gives you 360-degree views of the Staffordshire moorlands and the Cheshire Plain. The dogs love it here.
