A350 dog walk through history, Dorset
A stunning piece of ancient history, as well as a great place for a dog walk not far from the A350. Perfect for families, dogs, history enthusiasts and anyone who loves a good view.

We love this combo of dog-friendly pub and the chance to head up to a really atmospheric ancient hill fort with the dog.
A happy rural pub with camping in summer, and close to the A350.
National Trust managed nature reserve, with connections to the writer Thomas Hardy. It's a magnificent walk high up on the Downs and a total delight and the dog will be delighted.
On the corner of the Longleat Estate, and easily reached from the A350. A hugely dog-friendly upmarket inn with a large garden and delightful food. Very nice for meeting up with friends.
What a pretty place. The village is really pretty and the walk is a doggy delight. There is so much to enjoy and the pub offers a really warm welcome to people and dogs.
Expect fine things at this Pub of the Year and do book ahead! Despite the accolades this is a grounded and welcoming country pub and the farm shop is a treat if you're on the way to self-catering...
Best described as a 2-mile pit-stop for the dog with a top-class view and easy walking.
The chunky stone in the photo marks the spot where, possibly, the English nation was formed.
A long straight forest path is an easy dog walk. But you can find all sorts of natural treasures on either side of the path.
Reliably good food here, and it's easy to find and ideal for a journey break for hungry people. No dog walk nearby which is such a shame.
Short but sweet walk through ancient woodlands on the edge of Salisbury Plain.
