Dogs are made very welcome at this 13th century castle that feels more like a film set than actual history. The gardens are pretty and aromatic and the castle itself is tiny inside.
A charming village, a bit feudal with the Hall on its doorstep. The hotel/pub is dog-friendly and when the Hall gardens are open the walk is a pleasant outing for dogs who enjoy walking on lead.
Just a couple of miles away from Leek, this is a perfect spot for dogwalking through very pretty woodland.
