Most people come here to climb Schiehallion, which explains the surprisingly large car park and loos.

An area of SSI, chalk downland known for its Bee Orchids. Minutes from the A27 Brighton/Lewes. Public Car Parking available. Well worth the visit, very dog friendly, stunning views.

Easy walk along canal towpath
A useful pull in for a quick forest walk if you're travelling on the A70. There aren't any facilities, but it's easy parking for caravans in an easy to spot lay-by.
One of the last unspoilt beaches on this stretch of the South East coastline, ideal if you'd like a quiet walk. Gentle sloping shingle at high tide and lovely sand at low tide. Great fun for the dogs.

Large village pub, with an awesome selection of ales. The pub was taken over by a specialist craft brewery in 2019 and hopefully they've kept the spirit of the Poet alive. Reviews welcome!
