To be fair, dogs aren't exactly the priority here. But - Jem got a fabulous welcome wherever we went, and this is a lovely place to take a break from the A14 in summer.
There's a lot more going on here than you may think at first. The park has over 200 acres, and the high point for us was the arboretum, with some totally stunning trees.
National Trust property with extensive grounds. There are restrictions for dogs, however this still leaves a massive amount of walkies space. This is within easy reach of Junction 42 of the A14.
A really friendly pub in the middle of Ipswich where dogs are as welcome as people. With a lovely park for walkies nearby, this is an oasis in the heart of a busy town.
A totally extraordinary collection of sights and sounds here, with the docks behind you and a nature reserve with historic national defences dating from Henry VIII ahead.
Dogs are welcome on all of the beach in winter, and for the central beach area there are designated dog areas between May 1st and September 30th. These are signed and easy to find.
You and your dog will be made very welcome at this homely and traditional pub just off the Harborough Road. Its kerb appeal isn't great, but once inside it's spacious, clean and friendly.
Dog-friendly country pub just outside Cambridge, and ideal for a weekend walk and meal well outside the city. Also handy for the A14 coming in from Bury.
Village pub with good cafe menu in a pub ambience. Dogs are welcome and the garden is quite large. The walk is very short and boisterous dogs will feel cheated. Less than a mile from the A14.
We were charmed by the cheery welcome at this dog and child-friendly village pub with a huge garden. Active dogs will be happy with a romp over fields and then a play with the pub pooch.
Popular, dog-friendly and all-round nice welcoming pub with some good walks from the door. The roadside verges and hedgerows around here are just bursting with life and flowers in summer.
