A22 woodland dog walk, East Sussex
Clear paths and facilities make this small forest a dog-walker's delight. It's also a handy stopping point on the way to and from the coast.

Excellent combo of fine dog walk space and nearby Battle for refreshments (or helping with a history project) and shops. Also easy to get to from the A21 if you need a leg stretch before the coast.
It's the wrong area, but this pretty village does have something of Midsomer Murders about it! The pub is very much the heart of things, and is a traditional establishment.
Highly likeable dog-friendly pub near the A271 and A21, with a friendly atmosphere and sensational views over to Beachy Head. The artist Turner apparently was inspired by the landscapes from here.
A dog walk over fields and a dog-friendly pub with a welcome blazing fire in cold weather. And a garden that's probably pretty in the summer.
Dogs have a heavenly time in the absolutely enormous forest here. It's quite close to the A22 and makes a perfect place to stop for a relaxing walk with the dog.
Large country park that spreads from the Old Town across to Fairlight.
Lying close to the flanks of Burgess Hill, this former commonland has grassland, woodland and a lake. It's a beautiful place to be, especially in Spring when the bluebells are in bloom.
It's worth going a few minutes out of your way to enjoy a visit to this bright and airy dog-friendly countryside pub in deepest Sussex.
Wonderful dog walk in the Cuckmere valley, and a popular 17th century dog-friendly pub at the start. Incredible as it may seem, this tiny hamlet was home to a Mr and Mrs Prince of Wales.
Traditional village pub, many times CAMRA winner, and a space where conversation, beer and good company trump trendy menus and interior design. Old school and nice with it.
This is a bit like a history lesson squeezed into one visit. Interesting though, and even dogs can join in. The pub is big and friendly, and very welcoming.
