Dogs are made very welcome at this 13th century castle that feels more like a film set than actual history. The gardens are pretty and aromatic and the castle itself is tiny inside.
Apley Castle, beautiful walk, my dogs love it there
A breath of fresh air in the rugged uplands of Shropshire. The views alone are worth coming here to see and your dog will have so much to sniff and see.
An excellent farm shop, cafe and children's play area next to the big, flat, open space where Henry IV (England) beat Henry 'Hotspur' Percy (Northumberland Rebels) away at Shrewsbury.
A cool and shady woodland walk around, or up, a hill. It's very quiet here and we saw just one other walker at a distance away.
Tucked away in a quiet part of Shropshire is the graceful red sandstone ruined castle, and dogs are welcome to visit with you.

Start with the walk in the very remote coppice car park and then pop into the village inn for refreshment on your way back. Dogs will absolutely love the walk here, all off lead and safe.
An interesting and unusual walking spot with the chance to walk to the site of an ancient fort, or to simply stroll and enjoy the outstanding Shropshire countryside.
An easy walk with no livestock to worry about and just one path through the bracken. Ideal for a quiet stroll with the dog in a little-frequented beauty spot.
Historic dog walkies, river paddling for hot dogs, free parking and several choices for getting take-away refreshments or a dog-friendly pub in the village centre.
