Eyam is famous for its history as the 'Plague Village', and you'll find a museum explaining the backstory of nearly 300 deaths in the 17th century. This seems more relevant post-pandemic than ever.
A welcoming Georgian inn where dogs are made comfortable in the bar. The village is not at all far from the A515 but it feels as if you've landed in a previous century here.
Reservoirs are a good dog walking choice, usually with no stiles or livestock and easy to navigate. This walk starts by the reservoir and then joins more scenic countryside beside a brook.
