Deep in rural Worcestershire, this is a good place to take a break from the motorway, or the A38. The pub is welcoming and unpretentious, and the dog walk is fabulous in dry weather.
The woodland walk here will delight the dogs, and it's a pity the pub is only open for lunch at weekends.
You start with an unrivalled view of 16 counties, the dog can go nuts on the many paths, and then there's the very lovely Morris and Brown cafe to come back to. Perfect!
A woodland walk full of fab sniffing and zooming space for dogs. And a good place to revive weary drivers too. After your walk it's a 4 minute drive for refreshments.

This is part of the Wyre Forest, but with much more exciting trees than the serried pines of the main forest and lovely views over to Trimpley Reservoir.
There's a mix of woodland and heath here, and totally amazing views over to Wales. If you get the right weather this is one to have a proper 'stand and stare' moment.
Out of the way pub on the river, very laid back - like a time capsule to the last century.
Evesham is perched on a bit of high ground inside a big loop of the River Avon. So with the inevitable delays getting over the bridges, traffic does build up at busy times.
Redditch has a bit of an off-putting road system, but it's worth trusting your satnav to get you to this linear country park for a break.
