Dogs get a top class welcome at this large modern eatery on the Tarka Trail. The carvery is the big thing here, and enthusiasts come from miles around.

This handsome 16th century coaching inn is a bit of an understated gem, and the village too has some breathtakingly picturesque moments when you don't expect them.
