Very friendly staff and great pub

Very dog friendly - we took his blanket and there was room for him to stretch out. Staff all made a fuss of him. Good to go to after a walk in the Wirral country park

Very big beach

Great for a play on the beach followed by a walk round the lagoon - tide comes in quickly but still enough beach

Thurstaston beach

It was good just after high tide - enough beach to run on without it just being mud flats. Several dogs got very muddy !

Excellent pub in pretty village

Excellent food and service very dog friendly. As well as the listed walk the village is very near Hemsted woods for a walk before or after eating. Great village green next to pub. Photo taken from church looking back to pub bottom right

Good pub and walk

The pub is very dog friendly and the lane alongside is a useful walk although between hedges on either side. Lovely local area and village.

Great woods for a walk

Good mix of gravel and other unsurfaced tracks with miles of possible walks. Gravel tracks stay mud free!

Enormous beach backed by sand dunes

A perfect dog walking & playing beach. Only the left hand side bans dogs and the dog permissible area is the biggest. Really good RNLI shop, loos and cafe.

Wonderful dog friendly beach

One f the best beaches for playing with your dog. Gorgeous scenery, soft sand and gentle waves ideal for playing. Plenty of room and loos and a cafe

Easy walk with beach and cliff extensions possible

A good easy walk between two lovely bays. Ok for dogs to be off lead if not busy but a stream / boggy area alongside (see photo) The Old Sailors pub at Pwllgwaelod can get very busy. We liked the beach at Cwm-yr-Eglwys best (see photo) as plenty of places to sit. Ice cream van occasionally open. We stayed up in the village at Bryn-Henllan so a great circular walk down to one bay across and up from the other. The David Light art gallery in the village is very dog friendly and does amazing ginger scones.

Great lunch spot

A good place to stop for lunch on route to Poppit sands. Very dog friendly cafe. Local producers market every Tuesday.

Sun Inn & Coates Water Country Park

We stayed overnight in the Sun Inn which is extremely dog friendly there were about 5 other dogs in the bar with us. Good quality rooms available and usual selection of pub food. The back of the car park leads directly to the country park which is ideal for an off lead walk (be aware there are lots of access points to the lake )
