M6 Junction 17 Brereton Heath, Cheshire

A lovely place for me and the dog to stretch our legs on our way up to the Lake District. Easy to navigate around, and plenty of space of Ziggy to run around. At the top end of the heath the path goes through woods which border the local golf course. This is very well fenced so no danger of dogs running onto the course, EXCEPT about half way along there is a big hole in the fence. Luckily, when Ziggy found the hole she just stood and looked at me with a "Look, a hole!" look on her face and didn't run onto the course. Something to watch out for.

Woods and water - lovely!
A lovely place to stop off. Parking has gone up as a previous reviewer said: it's now £1.30 for 1 hour or £2.50 for up to three hours.
The pond/lake is very nice. There are swans, ducks and geese on the water and when we went they all had young 'uns so important to keep dogs on leads until you get into the woods.
Lots of trails in the woods, and a few places away from the birds where dogs can get down into the water.
The Little Cow Shed has a coffee and ice cream place on the lake side and, over the road, a place to by bacon baps, sandwiches, etc. All very nice.
