Moffat offers miles of very dog friendly walks, beautiful and varied, off lead very easily, to the point of Pooh bags provided in the main public parks and football pitches and similar fenced off. I would call it a super town for dogs and any other walkers.

We stayed in the Annandale House Hotel in the centre of the beautiful market town and within 5 mins of walking out of the hotel the lead was off in safe areas.
