Dog walk with a view in the Blackdown Hills, Somerset
Holiday walk
Once you arrive at the car park (watch the potholes) there is a clearing at the back with an info board. Follow this and take the route on the left to access the main walk. It had been raining a lot in the area recently so there were boggy spots in part. Paths are all fairly apparent and there are lots of choices you can make to make the walk longer. Once I came to a three way junction early in the walk I turned back on myself and eventually crossed the main road and directly opposite there was a gate to go into another wooded area. Lots to explore and would be nicer on a sunnier day!

Holiday walk with GSD
Staying in Aberaeron and this is 40 mins away. There are 4 walks off various lengths. I took the white one which is flat and it's near a river and is a circular loop back to the main car park. I then took the red walk which is more up and down if you want to reach the viewpoint. Red path is muddy in places in the forest and weedy hardcore path in parts. Very enjoyable!

Dog walk in summer
Visited 26.06.24 whilst on holiday. If you go to the right on the signposted route it was very overgrown and difficult to walk so turned back after 2 mins. Walking left from the car park takes you to the stone beach and a path that was a bit wider and easier to walk along. Given it was 25 degrees I kept the walk short and ended up at the river. Very cooling for doggo!

Flat woodland walk
This is a flat walk round the woods. The path we took was circular mainly stone and hardcore and took about an hour to do just over 4km. Lots of butterflies, birds and woodland flowers and the were some paths into the woods themselves if you want to go off the main track. There's a butterfly area at the car park to sit in and theres toilets too but gents was shut. Suggest wear midgie repellent as there were some horse flies doing some biting!
