M90 Junction 6 dog walk near Kinross, Scotland

23 March 2022

Great walk by the water

We always park on the Kirkgate side of the loch. Popular with dog walkers with plenty of grass as well as the loch. There are toilets - 20p when we visited in March 2021, and free parking. There is also a children's playground. No attractions as such on that side, but just a nice walk. The way in on this side is quite tight so I wouldn't attempt it in a motorhome but no problem otherwise.

A69 family and dog-friendly country park walks and tea rooms, Cumbria

Nice lakeside walk

Plenty of paths to explore, the main one is good quality. Only ever been in the winter so café and mini golf has never been open but the toilets always have been. Car park charges seem fairly reasonable. Used this as a stop between the midlands and Scotland quite a few times and it's worth the slight deviation off route.

Tandle Hill dog walks, Lancashire

20 August 2021

Rolling hills, woodland and a good bacon toastie!

Very good walking with several routes, some a little busy but plenty of space for everyone. Visited in August 2021, café with outdoor tables has reopened and the toilets are in use. Easy free parking at the entrance.

Market Square dog-friendly hotel and bar, North Yorkshire

20 August 2021

Nice walk without leaving the town

Visited August 2021. A nice walk right in the heart of town, which is very handy. The car park in the Square can be busy but there are two other car parks just around the corner, Millgate and Marage, both off Marage Road. These are slightly closer to the walk but slightly out of the town centre, but all within a short distance of each other. Millgate car park has a small picnic area that looks like it once joined this walk, but when we visited there was no access to the path that way, so just head along Marage Road slightly right of the church until you see the trees. The picture shows the bridge by Millgate car park, still Cod Beck but the other side of the picnic area to the actual walk.

Wells next the Sea dog-friendly beach, Norfolk

09 October 2018

Good beach with chance of a woodland walk too

Dogs not allowed to use the main beach entrance close to the cafe but you can get on the beach from the wooden steps/walkway further along the car park. Head left once on the beach and you can eventually pick up a path through the woods that takes you back to the car park making it a half beach half shaded walk. Toilets available near the cafe.

Sea Palling dog-friendly beach, Norfolk

09 October 2018

Good beach for energetic dogs

Beach is good and flat with shallow water for dogs to run through at low tide. Some basic shops nearby if you forget anything. There is some free parking just down the road. All dog restrictions are lifted in winter months.

Nice walk

Good place for dogs to let off steam before going to Holt town for a slower stroll. A bit muddy when we went but it was November so understandable.

Regular stop

This is one of our regular stops when travelling from Staffordshire to Norfolk and we've been quite a few times. Good space for dogs, toilets, parking. Can't comment on the cafe as it's not open on Mondays and I've mainly been on a Monday.

A1 dog walk, beach and dog-friendly pub near Alnick, Northumberland

15 March 2015

One of the best welcomes we've ever had when travelling with the dogs. Good beer, really friendly staff and good food. Lovely open fires on a windy March day too. Staff were keen to tell us their dog related stories. A lovely place for a quick stop - one for the list if you are in the area.

A1 country park dog walk near Bedlington, Northumberland

15 March 2015

Visited March 2015, wet and muddy but an enjoyable walk after a morning in Morpeth. Good paths near the car park but, as it had been raining the night before, a bit slippery near the river. A nice walk well worth a visit if you are I the area.

Woodland dog walk on the way to Peterborough, Northamptonshire

23 February 2014

Visited in November 2013. Good walk with well maintained paths but beware of mountain bikes! Nice cafe where the staff were only too happy to bag up our paninnis and put the coffee in take-away cups so we could get them back to the car, as it was too wet to sit on the picnic seats (no dogs in the cafe). Good, modern facilities. For sat-nav users head for 52.574288,-0.555815.

Dovedale Delight dog walk, Derbyshire

15 February 2011

Really lovely walk, been more times than I can remember. Only problem is it gets very busy in the summer - on a Sunday afternoon in nice weather the paths are as busy as supermarket aisles on 2 for 1 day! Some odd sheep by the river occasionally and fishermen. Don't be put off though, everyone should do this walk at least once - take an OS map or good guide book and spot all the named rock formations you'll see from the river bank.
