Find the perfect dog walk on your journey - Driving with Dogs

A171 Whitby Abbey and town, North Yorkshire

Description

Famous for the large black dog that transformed into Count Dracula, this spooky ruin will get your visit off to a bitingly good start.

Details

GPS coords for car park: 54.4862, -0.6046  EH. P&D car park. WC, cafe, visitor centre and shop. Picnic tables. Wonderful fish and chips by the harbour.

Walk

Dogs on leads within the Abbey grounds.  If you use the massive car park there is a short downward slope to take you into the historic town and harbour. Dog restrictions on the beach in summer.  We opted for a section of the coast path leading away from the Abbey but it's worth exploring the town if this is your first visit.
