Coatham wood dog walk in dog-friendly, County Durham


2 Square miles of forest, woodland and meadows 1 mile off the A66 at Long Newton.


Forestry commission planted thousands of trees starting in 1999 but now virtually a purpose made dog walking place, also used by bird spotters and orienteering, miles of paths in all directions so even when the car park is full sometimes you don't bump into anyone it's that vast also a few small lakes scattered around so your dogs can cool off on hot summer days. Your dog walk can be as long or as short as you like, forest park with marked routes.
