Description
You would never know that this forest land had been created over the remains of a disused railway line and coal mine, and it's now a popular leisure spot for dogs and walkers.

Walk
There are waymarked routes from the visitor centre (red, green or white markers) and if you have an OS map and want to make a longer route there is access onto the North York moorland from here as well.
Cyclists have their own tracks - avoid!
