There's 900 acres of parkland at Shugborough, in the grounds of a working estate and farm which includes a full complement of costumed servants and toffs doing things the hard way between March and October.
There's loads to look at in the public areas, best visited on a cool day if the dog has to stay in the car after the walk. And it's a good idea to check the website before you visit, as the park is used for large scale events during the summer.
Ideal for a family visit and on-lead dog walk, but there's much better romping for active dogs in nearby Cannock Chase if historical houses don't excite.
Car park charge, includes entry to grounds. Entry to the Hall is £12.00 adult, £30.00 family ticket - and your parking ticket is refunded if you also want to visit. Open from mid-March to late October. Only assistance dogs admitted, no pets. NT members should check their membership handbooks for the latest information about cheaper tickets. Facilities: WCs by ticket office (March-October) Tea Rooms (March-October), NT shop.
