Dogs allowed all year round. This is a fascinating beach, where you can see traces of a prehistoric forest at low tide. Access is only on foot.
Very pleasant place to visit and ideal if you live locally and have a members' pass. It's worth spending several hours here to get your money's worth if you just buy a visitor pass.
A lovely small cafe where dogs are welcome and the coffee is good. It's a pretty courtyard to sit in the sun and bask in the warmth. It's well placed for a break on the route from Edinburgh to Skye.
