One mile south of the centre of Whaley Bridge on the west bank of the River Goyt, near Taxal. Off the A5004 Long Hill Road.
This small park is quiet and intimate with calming views over the river. Dogs have to be on leads in some parts of the park, especially near buildings.
This is a really atmospheric and beautifully shady space for a dog walk. Several of the oak trees are named, and have boards identifying them - such as the 'King' oak.
Lovely Lakeland pub with dog friendly accommodation. Rooms very clean and dogs welcome in bar. Food - hearty and excellent. Walks to the fells or to Keswick from the inn.
Most people come here to climb Schiehallion, which explains the surprisingly large car park and loos.
