Newry Canal dog walk from Portadown, NI
This is the first section of the 18 mile Newry Canal Way which runs from Portadown to Newry. The canal is no longer in use, and the towpath is now a leisure route.

Secluded woodland with forest trails and access to the lake and shoreline.
Large sandy beach, with views to Orkney
You're likely to have this dog-friendly beach to yourself and it's a good spot for a doggie swim on the Galloway Trail.
Lovely circular walk above Fishguard Bay
Quiet and popular with local dog walkers, this can be a there-and-back walk or a circular route!
A welcoming pub that really is at the heart of the community. There's lots going on, and locals and holiday-makers get along just fine. Respect to the landlord here for creating the energy.
How not to like a place with a dog painted large and permanently on the exterior? Very handy for a stop on the A38. Shame there isn't a dog walk from here to make it a pawfect doggiestop.
A dog-friendly village pub with large beer garden that makes a handy stopping place for all the family in summer.
Apley Castle, beautiful walk, my dogs love it there
Lovely pub with proper home cooked food. Very dog friendly. Excellent play area outside for the kids.
We liked this dog-friendly local, and it's handy if you're staying near North Creake. And best to be within walking distance as there's limited on-street parking.
