Bramblebush Bay has some nice grassy picnic areas, and free parking along the roadside. Finding a parking space can be exciting on hot weekend days.
Fab walking over the headland, and also on the beaches. Dog friendly all year, under control as it's a nature reserve.
The Aire de Repose that appear every 20km or so - and always have WCs and usually picnic tables - are a real bonus of the French motorway system.
In Reading we have a superb (big) park - it is dog friendly.
Safe and attractive country park for a dog walk. It's also right in the middle of a number of main roads, and a useful doggiestop for desperate pooches. Not so great for people!
This is a large, city-style village green.
Another doggy-tastic big sandy beach in Northumberland with no restrictions on dogs, and plenty of poo bins are in place.
A brilliant walk up to and around the man-made reservoirs that fed Stott Park Bobbin Mill.
Way back, even before the Romans, Icknield Street was a major route for travellers and so loads of feet and paws will have trodden this walk before you.
Dogs are welcome on the beach here, with one marked section that's 'on-lead' only. The rest is open for doggy fun time. The castle is worth an explore too - well ruined, but atmospheric.
Dogs welcome on this beach all year round. There are a couple of fish and chip shops right by the car park (neither open all day).
