Dogs are allowed on the beach all year round. It's a large sandy beach with the famous strawberry and vanilla coloured cliffs.
For a dog walk there's a choice of a walk on the beach, a section of a long-distance footpath or just time in the water with the dog.
Dogs allowed on the beach all year round, and there's a dog-friendly cafe too.
The walk starts at a cafe where dogs are more than welcome. There are plenty of water bowls and the tables have rings so that you can safely attach your dogs leads.
Walk through pine trees and lots of sand down to the water. Dogs and horses go down there.
We set off from our pub base in Wells to find the sea and walked to Holkham Estate and back across the endless sands and dunes.
This is a lovely beach for dogs.
Miles of pawfect sandy beach and ideal for a doggie play day. Some small nooks in the dunes for sitting out of the breeze.
Another simply enormous beach with long walks in either direction. This one is best at low tide when dogs can run by the water line, and well away from the nesting plovers higher up.
A fabulous old pub where you might feel inspired to start wearing a blue and white Breton top and whistle a quiet hornpipe. Dogs welcome, even salty ones.
Dog friendly beach, and it's backed by some really interesting nature habitats (where dogs need to be o leads). Lovely for families interested in nature and dogs.
Long sandy dog-friendly beach with narrow bays. Not much sand when the tide is in, but there are also footpaths.
Long dog friendly beach for wonderful peaceful 2 mile walk between Holkham and Wells with miles of firm sand and tidal inlets for the less adventurous dogs.
Nice quiet sand and pebble beach with marram grass dunes. Dog-friendly.
Wild winds and sideways rain was the story here. And still the beach was good for a walk, and the very dog-cafe came up with welcome hot food and soup. It must be amazing in sunshine!
Calling all Sherlock Holmes fans with dogs. The Adventures of the Dancing Men was written here, and Conan Doyle was a regular visitor. They even have a blue plaque on the pub wall.
You can either start this dog walk from the dog-friendly pub, or drive down to a car park by the beach.
Traditional and roomy pub, on the A149 and opposite an imposing village church.
Wrap up warm for the dog walk and often a biting wind. After that enjoy the laid-back and relaxed country pub. Very handy for the nearby caravan park.
On a sunny day the town and beach would sparkle. As it was, grey clouds took over and spoiled everything! Dogs are adored at the pub, and they also have a cottage for rent right by the beach.
A massive shingle beach where dogs are allowed year round.
Dog friendly beach that's just great for dogs. Be seal aware and always put dogs on the leads if you spot seals.
We loved it here. First up, the beach is enormous and a regular nursery for seal pups in Spring.
