Historic dog-friendly inn with B&B, Somerset
Historic building with a fine welcome for familes and dogs, and dog-friendly B&B too. If you like creaking beams and chunky walls, and modern comfort too then this will tick a lot of boxes.

Country pub close to the A14 and also the battlefield at Naseby. So if your interest in Civil War battles is limited, you can look forward to a warm up in the dog-friendly pub here.
Quaint and rural, very traditional pub with a dog walk from the door. In days gone by, there was a significant Roman presence here, with a couple of garrisons and several marching forts.
We were charmed by this pretty town with a delightful dog walk by the side of a shallow, twinkling stream and a 15th century dog-friendly pub for refreshments at the start of the walk.
A super-easy stop with the dog off the A75 with clean public toilets, a dog walk with swimming, and tourist info all direct from the free car car park.
Aberfoyle is the centre of lots of dog walks and scenic places. Although small, the town bustles with energy and you'll find useful shops for food shopping, outdoor accessories and a fuel station.
A lovely country pub that's dog-friendly and close by the A413. Such a shame that access to several really excellent dog walks is blocked by a railway line on one side and a river on the other.
Oddly named dog-friendly dining pub, apparently after a previous landlord. Now it's part of an expanding pubco and reliably nice to dogs and diners.
A very friendly pub in the heart of historic Cromford with a warm welcome for dogs. This is definitely worth a visit if you are in the area.
A small rustic and dog-friendly inn near Ludlow. Dogs will welcome the well-tended doggie drinking station by the front door.
Top-end cooking and service at this dog-friendly country inn, and dog-friendly B&B rooms are available too in comfortable lodges.
A real local's pub in the Ribble Valley. Full of rural charm in a quiet village. Sadly dogs are not allowed inside, but this is more than made up for by a splendid walk.
