An enormous big beach, where dogs can enjoy an off-lead run around on mile after mile of sand when the tide is out. Very atmospheric with clouds and the Lake District hills behind.
If you're staying in Valence, this 26 hectare park is definitely worth a visit.
Very popular with local dog owners, this nature reserve seems to enjoy its own micro-climate. The paths are sandy and easy-going all year round (even in heavy rain when we took the photos).
This was the last canal to be built in Britain except for the Manchester Ship Canal. Originally it was used to transport bricks from the various Slough brickworks.
Wonderful dog walk from Mottram Road in Stalybridge, up the road to the farm, through the farm up on to the hills is wonderful.
Friendly pub and quite handy for refreshments after a bracing stroll at Burton Dassett. Many locals would probably call their pub the heart of the village.

Top class dog walking, and you're very likely to have a forest to yourself. It's a good walk on very wet days as the trees give some protection.
