This is a former deer park with 2,400 acres of open space - including 7 lakes. The terrain is a mix of heathland, woodlands, wetlands and marshes.
A country park with the absolute wow factor of the Humber Bridge that looms over the trees. Amazing perspective! There's also Hessle Foreshore just across the road for dogs who love to splash.
Update: new management is now in place (April 2023) and the pub is again open. Reviews particularly welcome.

There are three signed trails for dogs to enjoy, all well signed from the visitor centre and easy to reach from the car park.
Dogs preferring a quiet stroll without too much canine socialising will appreciate these woods - especially on busy weekend days when better known woodlands are packed out.
Part of a larger historic park, this quieter section can be reached either by footbridge or there's limited on-street parking in the residential streets nearby.
The views of Loch Maree are still lovely, and dogs can have a fine time hurtling through the open spaces on the paths.
The Royal Oak has an excellent Tap Room where dogs and their owners can enjoy an open fire, good food and a pint of Hawkshead in considerable comfort!
