Pointe de la Coubre dog-friendly beach, France
Great dog walks in France off the D25 Fabulous place for a walk, and lots to see in this unique maritime forest and environs. Just gorgeous. A climb up the lighthouse is great for kids (but no dogs).

Varetz is a small town where you'll get a feel for typical life in the Limousin region, as it's by no means a tourist destination.
An old town that's steeped in history, good food and quirky old buildings. It's also the regional capital city.
This arboretum is a real celebration of trees, and was one of first to be established in the region - nearly 100 years ago.
On a sunny day it's really lovely here. The walk goes partly along the banks of the River Moy and then around the grounds of Belleek Manor (now a hotel).
We were amazed how dog-friendly and relaxing this little village is. The tower on top of the hill in the village is next to a cheerful and welcoming restaurant, with outside tables.
A typically French small village of the Midi-Pyrénées region with a château (built between the 11th and 14th centuries) and pretty cottages with streams of colour flowing from their window boxes.
Perfect dog walking, combined with some interesting bits of local history and easy to follow trails.
Dogs will just adore the walk, and the marked trails start from the car park.
Delightfully quiet dog walking spot, and popular with local dog owners.
If seaside time-travel appeals, then a visit to Cayeux is unmissable. The beach huts, neatly lined alongside the long promenade, are pure 1950s and look fantastic.
Dogs will love a walk in this huge forest. It's quiet and peaceful and you're unlikely to meet anyone else. It's a relaxing spot for a motorway break.
