Allow plenty of time for exciting walkies here. There are a number of well-signed dog walk routes, one with dog-swimming. Wheelchair users are well catered for, and facilities are excellent.
Large, popular beach with pebbles and some sand. Dogs are OK on a designated part of the eastern side of the beach (by the cliffs).

Beautiful wide open space with the River Eden flowing through. Great beach for the dogs to go swimming. Stopped here while travelling up to Scotland. There is a monument here too.
Plenty of dog walking here, and if you're taking a break on a journey please allow extra time for enthusiasm. It's hard to tear yourself away from the big open spaces.
A useful walking space in the city, with activities for families and dogwalkers. The woodland, with oaks, walnut and sweet chestnut trees is lovely. Some areas are off-limits to dogs.
A traditional pub that's well equipped for families and their dogs. Relaxed and friendly atmosphere. New management in January 2024, so reviews very welcome.
