A38 dog-friendly pub and river walk near Culmstock, Devon
Delightful country inn with a dog-walk from the door. We stopped for lunch and were enormously tempted to stay for much longer and see more of the area!

When you're in need of a break from the A38 before Plymouth, a family and dog-friendly country park is a good bet for some really good activities and calm in the car for the haul into Cornwall.
A lovely village pub where everyone is warmly welcomed including the dog. A great place to break your journey and enjoy an easy-going walk.
Within a few miles of the A38, this dog-friendly pub serves tasty home made food with local beers (Dartmoor Jail Ale anyone?) and a fabulous dog walk starts from the front door. Nuff said.
Seconds away from the Devon Expressway you won't lose journey time by taking a dog walk break here. The inn is about 200 years old, with open fires, oak beams and a relaxing atmosphere.
This could be the perfect pub for ticking all the right boxes for drivers, dogs and passengers too.
Welcoming Devon country pub, with a lovely riverside walk starting nearby.

Beautiful, traditional pub, on the outskirts of Sidmouth. Lovely carvery served lunchtimes and evenings every day. Dogs are allowed in the bar area. Plenty of room if you want to eat.
A short but handy doggie pitstop in the grounds of an historic deer park. It's a pleasant spot for a picnic.
Wonderful spot for dogs, families, and anyone with a yearning for sea air and impeccably cooked sea food (other options available).
A peaceful reservoir, with clean and tidy facilities and a fully accessible path along the waterside. It's a handy place to know about if you're on the A30 and the traffic builds up after Okehampton.
