A377 Forest dog walk near Eggesford, Devon
Calming woodlands where dogs can run free and have a great time. There is a sign for forest walks but the forestry commission has lost interest here it seems. All the better for dogwalkers.

Traditional pub with a Scandi minimalistic look and a zero-waste menu option.
Wow - this is a 14th century Inn, in an amazing historic setting. There's a beautiful walled garden, and summer garden menu. Altogether, a completely lovely pub.
Lovely old country inn, not far from Lyme Regis and surrounded by great dog walks.
This is a dog walk that does exactly what it says on the tin: one path that winds through an avenue of rhododendron bushes, there and back. And the dog-friendly pub is a treat.
Length of walk: 40 minutes for the Purple trail. This ancient forest is managed by the National Trust, and is famous for its butterflies in July and August.
This pub is in a lovely part of the countryside and the walk is easy to follow. It is a really pretty place to enjoy the scenery and some excellent food.
